The CRB (The Criminal Records Bureau) are pleased to report that there is continued public support for the CRB checks on those working with children and /or vulnerable adults in a paid or voluntary capacity.
Around 130,000 unsuitable people have been prevented from working with children and/or vulnerable adults as a direct result of a CRB check in the last 6 years. That’s just over 21,500 people each year on average.
The findings indicate that the CRB are making a positive difference in protecting vulnerable members of society as well as form a useful part of recruitment processes improving confidence in the recruitment decisions made by organisations which is one of the key aims of the CRB service.
