Last year, the CRB checking service was extended to Jersey and Guernsey, enabling individuals applying for positions in the Channel Islands to apply for a CRB check.

Before this, the CRB’s service was only available for positions in England and Wales. As a further development, regulations have now been made to extend the CRB service to the Isle of Man, which is another positive development in cross-border safeguarding and reduces the risk of unsuitable people seeking work in the Isle of Man.
The CRB is working with the Isle of Man Government to establish a single statutory Registered Body on the island, which will provide CRB access for all organisations there. We will continue to keep you informed of the development of this work, and will feature another article once the statutory body is in place, which will include any subsequent changes to the list of valid ID documents.
