Latest Updates from the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA)

Summary of Changes:-From the 12th October 2009 important changes to CRB applications for people working with children or vulnerable adults or on designated premises where there are children and vulnerable adults will apply:-

• Continue to use the current CRB application form
• Anyone working with Children or Vulnerable Adults in regulated activity will need the Enhanced Check
• POCA, POVA and List 99 are replaced by the ISA “Childrens List” and “Vulnerable Adults List”
• Standard CRB checks are no longer available for people working with children and vulnerable adults
• Employers have a legal obligation to refer any information about individuals who may pose a risk to children and vulnerable adults to the ISA
