What is your best achievement whilst working at Personnel Checks?
Developing the CRB department
If you were given tomorrow off work, what would you do for the day?
Retail therapy in the morning, nice lunch out and then decorating or sewing at home or spend the day by the sea.
Briefly describe your job/market
Everyone is a potential customer, whether they are an individual or a Company. We deal especially with companies whose employees work with children/vulnerable adults.
Claim to fame…
I once chucked Christopher Biggins out of a hotel I was working at, he wanted coffee in the lounge and I told him he would have to queue in the coffee shop with everyone else(I had no idea who he was). He walked out with his party of cronies, then the Deputy Manager legged it down the street and brought him back into the hotel and served him coffee. Christopher smirked at me when he came past!
What was your first ever job?
Working in a sweet shop on a Saturday and babysitting Saturday nights

Treat people as you would like to be treated
How would you make England a better country?
Make sure that our elderly are looked after with correct care. Tougher penalties for crime.
For many people that contact Personnel Checks, you’re the first person they speak to. What’s it important to be aware of when engaging with a client? Any dos or don’ts?
To come across as professional and knowledgeable so they want to place their business with you. Build up a rapport with them. Smile when you speak to people as it is reflected in your voice – always be polite and courteous. Do not eat or chew gum whilst on the phone.

What is the best aspect of your job?
Being able to help people understand what the CRB is all about and which is the option for them
