Basic criminal records bureau check: Basic crb check
A Basic Disclosure, or basic crb check, is the lowest level of criminal record Disclosure and is available to anyone (Individuals or Companies) for any purpose, on payment of the appropriate fee.It contains details of convictions considered "unspent" under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and held on the Police National Computer.
A Basic Disclosure (termed as a ‘criminal conviction certificate) contains details of convictions considered unspent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 or states that there are no such convictions. The Disclosure is not job-specific and may be used more than once.
Once the application forms are completed and received by Personnel Checks it will then be processed through the Disclosure system which includes carrying out searches against the UK wide Police National Computer (PNC) and the Scottish Criminal History System (CHS).
The service level target is to process 90% of applicants within 10 working days. The timescale is calculated from the date the application is received by Personnel Checks and the disclosure certificate will come directly to your address once issued.
As mentioned above, all that is required is for each individual to complete the application form and return to us by post attaching copies of identification, ie. 1 x photo ID, eg. Passport / driving license & 1 x utility bill / bank statement confirming home address.
The cost of this service is £43.00(inc VAT) and payment will be required in advance of processing with a debit or credit card over the telephone.
The Basic Check is applied for by, and issued only to, the individual concerned. It is then the individual's choice whether they show the disclosure to an employer. It is non job specific and may be used more than once.
