As part of the CQC requirements, all members of staff within a Dental Practice must have Enhanced CRB Checks
However, for the Main Provider (the legal entity that provides the service) and the Registered Manager (the individual who manages the day-to-day operations of the Provider), their CRB Checks must be arranged and countersigned by the CQC. The CQC will provide instructions as to how they will undertake the CRB checks for the Registered Manager and Main Provider within the Practice.
CRB Checks for Dental Nurses and CRB Checks for Dentists
The CQC require all members of staff within a Dental Practice to have Enhanced CRB Checks. This is because the Enhanced CRB Checks are more suited for professions who regularly come in contact with either children or vulnerable adults such as Dental Nurses and Dentists.
Apply now for CRB Checks for dental nurses, dentists and other dental practice staff
Personnel Checks is a Registered Umbrella Body for the CRB and can obtain CRB checks for dental nurses and dentists. We provide all levels of CRB Check- Standard and Enhanced CRB Checks as well as Basic Criminal Record Checks; however Personnel Checks recommend the Enhanced CRB Check for dental nurses and dentists due to the level of contact with children and vulnerable adults.
Standard and Enhanced CRB Checks
The Enhanced CRB check is the highest level and checks the individuals name on the barred list for working with children and vulnerable adults as well as unspent and spent convictions, cautions, warnings and reprimands and any other information that the police think is appropriate to display on a CRB Check.
Basic Criminal Record Check
Basic Criminal Record checks search an individual’s history of living in the UK for unspent convictions. Basic Checks are available for all individuals.
