CRB Checks for Tutors Can Be Obtained Through Personnel Checks
If you are considering tutoring or are a self-employed or individual tutor, you can apply for a Basic Disclosure Scotland Criminal Record Check (more commonly known as a Criminal Convictions Certificate).
This will be a formal certificate under the applicants’ name, and can be presented to any potential employers who require proof that the applicant has no current unspent convictions.

Standard and Enhanced CRB Checks are higher levels of disclosures which show more detail into the history of an individual, however these are only available to companies to obtain checks on potential or existing members of staff. Individual or Self Employed tutors or Sole Traders cannot access the Standard or Enhanced CRB Checks.
