Possible Changes to ISA Registration and CRB Checks
Changes to be announced in the New Year to ISA registration and CRB Checks
- Until the recommendations from both the Vetting and Barring and Criminal Records reviews are announced early in the New Year, we cannot pre-determine any changes to the service.
- Whilst the review is being undertaken, customers are reminded:
- To continue to apply for CRB checks as normal, referring to the appropriate guidance for completing the new application form. There are no changes to the current process
- There is still a duty to refer information to the ISA if you consider that an individual has caused harm or poses an ongoing risk to vulnerable groups
- The ISA will still continue to be responsible for decisions to bar those considered unsuitable for work with children and vulnerable adults.
- If you would like to discuss possible ISA registration please call 01254 355688
- If you or your organisation wish to comment please email the review team at crb@personnelchecks.co.uk
What is ISA Registration?
- ISA registration is a register of people considered unsuitable and who are prevented from working or volunteering with vulnerable members of society. i.e. Children (under 18yrs old) and/or Vulnerable Adults
- ISA registration lasts a lifetime and need only to be applied for once by each individual.
- ISA does not replace a CRB Check. CRB checks must still be carried out by anyone working in regulated activity
- The new crb application forms recently introduced, will be used for CRB checks and ISA registration.
- The Independent Safeguarding Authority
Please Note: ISA Registration has now been scrapped. Please call the team on 01254 355688 for more information.
