We get a lot of calls from people wanting advice about DBS checks for volunteers- how do I get one? How much does it cost? Below we aim to answer all of your questions and provide a bit of information so you know where you stand when applying.
As a volunteer you can apply for both Standard & Enhanced level checks if you are working for an organisation or charity- all at a discounted rate! The organisation itself would have to apply for a check on the applicant’s behalf and the application takes around the same length of time as a regular check.
If your organisation or charity that you are volunteering for does not apply for the check on your behalf then the Basic check will be the only available option which is not available at a reduced rate.
