National Safeguarding Unit, The Safe Network has teamed up with the Disclosure & Barring service to hold a DBS focus week from the 29th September to the 3rd October 2014 in a bid to raise awareness of safer recruitment issues and how to prevent unsuitable people from working with children and vulnerable groups.
There will be a variety of up-to-date and relevant information available for the voluntary and community sector in England, such as articles promoting the DBS’ services, upcoming challenges, the DBS’ vision, information on the safeguarding of vulnerable groups including children and information for partners and organisations on how they can do their bit in safeguarding society.
The DBS focus week will also include 2 free webinars which will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of October about referrals and disclosures. There will also be a special feature on the DBS Chief Executive Adrienne Kelbie who will give an insight into her day to day life at the DBS and her values and aims.
