How DBS (CRB) Checks Work

To apply for a DBS (CRB) check the applicant will need to submit an application form.  The application will then be sent to the DBS (CRB) head office to be processed and then the certificate will always be posted to the applicant’s home address.  It’s then the applicant’s responsibility to show the certificate to the employer or contractor and then it’s their responsibility to make a sound recruitment decision based on what the certificate presents.
