Glad to Care Week 2021: What is it and how can you get involved?
Spearheaded by Person Centred Software and Autumna, two major players in the care industry, #GladtoCare Awareness Week 2021 will take place from Monday 5th July to Friday 9th July 2021. Throughout the week, participants are invited to join in with a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to get the entire care community and its residents involved.
The campaign was originally launched in 2018 as a way to boost the profile of those working within the care community. Last year saw the inaugural #GladtoCare Awareness Week as a way to show appreciation for the incredible work done by carers in an incredibly difficult time for the UK.
Organisers Person Centred Software and Autumna hope that the week will highlight the outstanding dedication displayed by carers since the start of the pandemic, who have gone above and beyond to make sure care home residents are kept safe, happy and entertained throughout this difficult time. It aims to champion their incredible work whilst simultaneously allowing them to shout about why they’re glad to work in the care sector.
Speaking of the initiative, Jonathan Papworth, co-founder of Person Centred Software, said: “The response to the inaugural #GladtoCare Awareness Week was fantastic and saw hundreds of care providers across the UK get involved at the height of the pandemic. One year on, and with the COVID-19 still very much impacting the sector, we were keen for the event to return.”
