Personnel Checks Managing Director Selected for Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Programme

Personnel Checks are pleased to announce that our Manging Director, Jack Mellor, has been selected to take part in the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business UK (GS10K). Run in partnership with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, the programme brings together leaders of small businesses from across the nation to help them scale their business and create new employment opportunities.

Small businesses are the backbone of the UK economy. They represent 99% of business across the nation and employ around 60% of the UK’s workforce. The GS10K was launched in 2010 to address the support gap for small enterprises in the UK and is available to business owners from all sectors. The programme helps growth-oriented small businesses to unlock their full economic and job creation potential.

The entry criteria for the programme are:

  • Businesses must be operating for at least three years

  • Have between 5 and 50 employees

  • Turnover of at least £250,000 in the previous financial year

  • No recent management education

  • Applicant should be the primary owner or decision-maker of the business

The GS10K is fully funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation. Each business taking part is helped to develop a business growth plan over the course of the programme. The 15th cohort will begin their course on the 3rd of September, for an intensive three months of world-class education from experts.

Commenting on his selection, Jack said:

“I’m delighted to have been selected for the 15th cohort of the GS10K programme. The practical education, networking opportunities and support are going to benefit the entire Personnel Checks family and will help kick-start our post-pandemic growth plans!”

“Being used to leading Personnel Checks, going back to school is going to be a definite change of tack but I have the full support of the business behind me, and I can’t way to start applying what I’ve learnt to the business!”
