Personnel Checks Partner with the Children’s Activity Association for Safeguarding Checks

Personnel Checks are delighted to announce they have partnered with the Children’s Activity Association (CAA). This partnership aims to improve safeguarding rules in the industry and provide an essential service for the CAA’s members.

Safeguarding children is one of the most important responsibilities of society. In the childcare sector, Enhanced DBS checks are a key measure for ensuring the protection of children. But for children’s activity providers, many safeguarding measures are put in place voluntarily.

Currently, there is no statutory best practice guidance for children’s activity providers.

The CAA are striving to set the standard for safeguarding compliance in the children’s activity industry. Their code of practice outlines minimum standards for health and safety, child safeguarding, criminal record checks, qualifications and training.

To become fully accredited members of the CAA, prospective organisations must complete 5 accreditation modules: compliance; training; programme; delivery; and customer service.

To remain accredited, members must maintain the standards set in these modules. To ensure standards are maintained, members are independently reviewed every three years.

Commenting on the partnership, Personnel Checks Managing Director, Jack Mellor, said:

“The CAA is clearly passionate about what they do. The standards they set mean their members are at the forefront of safeguarding in their industry.

The work they do to improve the quality of safeguarding in their industry is admirable and Personnel Checks relishes the opportunity to be able to support them and their members in their journey.

We’re really excited to be partnering with the CAA team. Personnel Checks are always glad to build partnerships with organisations that share our goal of making the working world safer for everyone.”
