Old and Minor Cautions, Convictions and Warnings Will be Filtered from DBS Certificates
Following on from our update in March, we can confirm the DBS are to filter certain old and minor cautions, convictions, reprimands and warnings from criminal record certificates.
Changes to legislation were introduced Wednesday May 29th 2013 to allow the DBS to remove certain specified old and minor offences from criminal record certificates.
To ensure the law is followed correctly the DBS have amended Question e55 on the application which you will need to bring to your Applicant’s attention when they are completing the form.
Applicants should now treat question e55 as if they were being asked:
"Do you have any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings?" and answer accordingly.
If you need any more information or advice regarding this change please contact us 01254 355688.
