As a DBS Umbrella Body, we provide an essential service. Lockdown highlighted to us how many key service providers we work alongside. But, as our economoy changes, it is important for us to adapt.
Increasing levels of digitisation mean we need to stay ahead of the curve to ensure our service is future-proof for our clients. With talk of a more flexible approach to remote working, post-COVID, it is vital that we have a product that can be utilised by any business across any device.
That’s where Simon comes in…
Put bluntly, our new CTO, Simon Henderson, is a genius.
A lifelong technology enthusiast, he has been writing code in one form or another for almost 30 years. Simon’s passion is evident when he talks about building applications. And while it can feel like he’s talking another language sometimes, his creations speak for themselves.
Considering his focus, you might be surprised to learn that Simon also used to manage pubs! At one point, he was even training to be a quantity surveyor. A varied background like this is essential for Personnel Checks. What we do engages every industry and understanding that is essential to our service.
When we asked Simon about his reasons for joining Personnel Checks he answered:
“I’ve spent the past 5 years working in the compliance industry and love the complexity and the real-world impact of this sector. In this time, I’ve worked for multi-national Agencies, MSPs, RPO's in all industries & Governmental bodies
I joined PC as it is a very focussed business with huge potential and no corporate baggage. I’m planning on building the team and creating a product portfolio that will revolutionise the process of compliance management”
Simon has instantly gelled with the team and his dedication and motivation are evident in spades.
With all the great work Simon’s doing to revolutionise the industry, we need to make sure that the people who need to know are in the know.
That’s where Matt comes in…
Our new CMO, Matt, is a creative powerhouse.
From our first contact, we knew he was going to be a great fit for Personnel Checks. The sort of person who builds a website overnight because he’s excited about a new product (true story!). His drive and determination are contagious. Matt’s leadership will be instrumental in delivering our message in the next chapter of our business.
A marketing director for nearly a decade, he has spent the past few years leading the marketing teams at some of the largest and most innovative background screening companies in the UK. Matt joined us from SaaS firm Veremark, where he built their marketing strategy from the ground up. His insights are going to ensure we’re communicating the right message as our business evolves.
When we caught up with Matt, he had a lot to say:
“I love working in the compliance industry, it’s a really interesting niche and offers some interesting challenges. I’ve headed up large marketing teams at Security Watchdog (part of Capita Plc.), was the Global Marketing Lead at Veremark and have been responsible for end-to-end marketing solutions when managing my own company.
Joining Personnel Checks was a no-brainer. Being able to work with a team as dedicated and passionate as I am, to deliver a genuinely revolutionary product is exciting! There’s so much potential in the future of this business and I’m glad I get to be one of the ones leading the charge!”
In a Personnel Checks first, Managing Director, Jack Mellor, managed the entire onboarding process for both...remotely!
Recruiting senior staff can be daunting at the best of times, never mind in the middle of a pandemic. But the impact they’ve had since, Simon joined in June, and Matt in August, is testament to their drive and ability. Our success in recruiting this way proves to us that we can adapt to any challenges in our future.
The Personnel Checks family are universally excited for our future and the plans set in motion by these new recruits. The fact they have become such familiar faces over the past few months makes it hard to believe that we’ve not technically met them, yet!
